Campaign Story

My name is Ashley. I have finally been diagnosed with infertility after many years of trying to conceive. Unfortunately, my fallopian tubes are extremely damaged. My right tube is 100% blocked and my left tube is extremely damaged. My left tube has very large bubble like spots in it which the fertilized egg gets stuck inside of causing an ectopic pregnancy, which can be fatal if the tube ruptures. I have had 5 early miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies in the last 4 years that my husband and I have been trying to conceive. We have never made it past 6 weeks gestation. It has been a very traumatic experience. We currently don’t have any biological children. I hope to be able to start IVF as soon as we can. It costs $15-$20,000, which has been very hard for us to come up with and we have to pay all of the costs of everything before I can even begin this journey. We have looked into open enrollment to change our insurance plan to find one that covers infertility but everywhere wants to charge an arm and a leg and we just don’t have that kind of money. We hope to begin this journey to a family and we thank everyone willing to help us!
